Dear Parents:
Welcome to Litchfield Little School!
Enclosed please find the 2007-2008 edition of our L.L.S. Parent Handbook.
Also enclosed is the tuition payment booklet for this school year. We ask that you take a
few minutes and read everything carefully. Should you have any questions,
please call the school at 881-5888, so we can help.
The tuition payment booklet includes 9 (nine) coupons to be used with the tuition
payments (one with each payment). Always reference your child's name on your check
and tuition coupon. Please make checks payable to Litchfield Little School.
The second school payment is due on or before September 10, 2007 at orientation.
Payments 3 through 10 will be due on the first of the month. Please refer to your payment
booklet. We have provided mailing address labels for your convenience. All tuition payments
are due on or before the first of each month. If you opt not to mail your tuition, then
please place your check in an envelope marked "Tuition" in your child's backpack so that
proper credit can be applied to your account. A third option would be to place your t
uition payment in the "Parent Drop Box" located beside the front door to the school.
Your child's health form is due if you have not submitted it. If you cannot have it completed
by your pediatrician prior to orientation, please bring your child's immunization record with
you. As a licensed facility, the state requires us to have a current health form in our
files. Children's physicals are "good" for one year. We will send you a reminder that your
child's physical is about to expire. In order for a child to be admitted to class, a copy of
the immunization record or a signed health form must be on file. Your child's physical
will expire: _____________________
When you arrive for your child's orientation, Please check in with me (Mrs. Frost). I will need
your child's current health form, and a copy of the original health immunization record.
Orientation/Open House Day
MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 10th, 2007
Orientation/open house is an opportunity to re-acquaint your child to Litchfield Little School.
Because it may be a new situation for some of you, it gives you a moment to meet the staff, and
get answers to any questions you might have. This is also the time to make sure that all of
your paperwork is in order, and to sign up for holiday treats. Each child will receive a
"Ziploc" bag for a change of clothes, a sticker with their name on it (to wear to school the
first day), and instructions on sending a shared snack for the first day of class.
Because of the limited parking and the full classes this year, we need to limit the amount of
time each group attends orientation and to stagger the times. Please limit your visit to 20 minutes.
If your child is attending school on M/W/F (4-yr. class),
and your child's last name begins with A - M, please attend
orientation from 9:30 a.m. until approximately 9:50 a.m. If your child's last name begins
with N - Z please arrive at 10:00 a.m. until 10:20 a.m.
If your child is attending school on Tu./Th. (3/4yr. class),
and your child's last name begins with A - M please attend
orientation from 11:00 a.m. until approximately 11:20 a.m. If your child's last name begins
with N - Z please arrive at 11:30 a.m. until 11:50 a.m.
If your child is attending Kindergarten, and your child's
last name begins with A - M please attend orientation from
12:30 p.m. until approximately 12:50 p.m. If your child's last name begins with
N - Z please arrive at 1:00 p.m. until 1:20 p.m.
The full first day of school for the Tu/Th class and Kindergarten is Tuesday, September 11th. The
drop-off time for the 3 & 4 year pre-school class is at 8:15 a.m. and dismissal is at 11:15 a.m.
Kindergarten drop-off is at 11:45 a.m. and pick-up at 3:00 p.m.
The full first day of school for M/W/F (4yr. Class) is Wednesday, September 12th, with drop-off at
8:15 a.m. and dismissal at 11:15 a.m.
We do have a web site (www.LitchfieldLittleSchool.com) that my husband maintains. We try to keep
it updated with all of the important things going on at school, so if you need some information and
the letter or notice from school isn't readily available, try looking here.
We hope you enjoy the last few weeks of summer. It is going so quickly! Approximately one
week before school begins, I will be sending an activity and a letter to your child. We look
forward to seeing everyone at orientation and beginning an exciting new school year. I know this
is a lot of information, but should you have questions, please call the school at 881-5888.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Dellann Frost
