Living in New England, we do have weather emergencies. In just the past year, we have experienced a hurricane and the "Snowtober" snowstorm (with the resulting power emergencies) that caused school cancellations.
At Litchfield Little School, we post school delay and cancellations on our web-site: www.Litchfieldlittleschool.com
If the web is not available to you because of power outages or other circumstances, feel free to call the school at (603) 881-5888 to see if any personnel have arrived. Or, you can reach me on my cell phone: (603) 582-1280 or my home phone: (603) 883-5778 to get an update about the status of school.
Snow Cancellations:
Parents always have the discretion to decide if they will bring their child to school. If weather becomes a problem, parents can always come to school and dismiss their child early.
The rule of thumb is: If Hudson/Litchfield has cancelled school because of snow, Litchfield Little School will have no school.
90 Minute delay – because of bad weather, (snow or ice) we would have no school. If the 90 minute delay was because of power outages we would open at 9:00 a.m. for drop-off as long as we have power. Calling the school at 8:45 a.m. and/or calling Mrs. Frost's cell phone before venturing out would be a good plan. We will call your cell/and your home number to leave a message.
Early dismissal: If schools announce early dismissal, we would not have afternoon classes. Pickup for the full day class would be between 12 and 12:30 p.m.
